Sutton Harbour Marina showcases Plymouth at London Boat Show

The award winning Sutton Harbour Marina will be showcasing Plymouth as a top class boating destination when it exhibits at the London Boat Show, which opens on Friday 6th January

The marina will be promoting Plymouth as the gateway to some of the best cruising waters in the UK and will launch a competition to win a week's free visitor berthing via its website, www.suttonharbourmarina.com.

Sutton Harbour Marina, which is owned by the Sutton Harbour Group, was recently awarded five Gold Anchors – the highest possible – by The Yacht Harbour Association for the quality of its services.

The London Boat Show is also an opportunity to promote Plymouth's newest marina, the 179-berth King Point Marina at Millbay.

This is due to be built by the Sutton Harbour Group later this year once final lease agreements have been signed with Millbay's lead developer English Cities Fund and the Homes and Communities Agency.

Mark Brimacombe, Sutton Harbour Marina Manager, said: "The London Boat show is one of the premier annual boating events in the UK and we want to make sure Plymouth is on the map as a stunning location with fantastic cruising.

"We will be promoting the city for the visitor boating market and also for boat owners who want to base their vessels here. Berthing rates in Plymouth tend to be lower than further up the South coast and our waters are certainly less congested, so we've a lot to offer."

The London Boat Show opens this Friday (6th January) and runs until 15th January at ExCel London. The Sutton Harbour Group will be exhibiting on stand C440.

There is still time to enter a competition to win a year's free berthing in Sutton Harbour Marina worth up to £5,000. Visit www.suttonharbourmarina.com to enter. The closing date is 15th January 2012.
