Sutton Harbour Marina makes a new splash at major UK boating show
Safe havens in the heart of Plymouth where the city meets the sea
An award-winning Plymouth marina is launching its new brand at this year’s Southampton International Boat Show to help promote the many benefits of berthing a boat in the historic heart of Britain’s Ocean City.
Sutton Harbour Marina is exhibiting at the 51st annual event from 13 – 22 September alongside its sister marina, King Point Marina – both of which are operated by Sutton Harbour Group.
Southampton Boat Show, sponsored this year by Borrow a Boat, is Britain’s biggest and best-loved festival of boating, with more than 600 global marine brands exhibiting, interactive attractions, world launches and over 300 boats to view on the purpose-built marina from catamarans to luxury superyachts. The 10-day show attracts thousands of visitors, including many celebrity guests, and offers a fantastic opportunity to launch a new product or brand.
Sutton Harbour Group’s Marina team is exhibiting in the Which Marina? Area run by The Yacht Harbour Association to help promote berthing opportunities in Plymouth on a national scale to boat owners from across the UK, as well as launching Sutton Harbour Marina’s redesigned brand and logo.
Berthing at both marinas enables boat owners to take full advantage of being based in the centre of Plymouth as the city prepares to take centre stage during the international commemorations for Mayflower 400 in 2020, with a host of events being held next year to mark the 400 year anniversary of the Mayflower setting sail for America.
Mark Brimacombe, Marina Manager, said: “Southampton International Boat Show is the premier boating event in the country, so it offers the perfect opportunity to launch the new brand for Sutton Harbour Marina to the thousands of boat owners visiting daily.
“We are delighted to be representing both Sutton Harbour Marina and King Point Marina at this year’s show, and to be promoting Plymouth as a fabulous destination for visitor and annual berthing, with excellent cruising destinations on the doorstep to enjoy alongside first-class marina facilities. With the Mayflower 400 events starting this November in Plymouth, there will be no better place to be.
“We are enormously proud of the Marinas we operate in Plymouth and are looking forward to showcasing both Marinas and Plymouth as the perfect place to berth on such a fantastic platform.”
Sutton Harbour Marina and King Point Marina are exhibiting on Stand J150 in The Yacht Harbour Association’s Which Marina? section of Ocean Hall 1.
Sutton Harbour Marina is a 5 Gold Anchor Marina offering berths for up to 420 vessels which is based in the very heart of Plymouth’s historic waterfront, with a wide selection of harbourside restaurants, bars, visitor attractions and city centre shopping all just a short stroll from the pontoons.
